At my house, life doesn’t begin until after my second cup of coffee. Or if there is life, I’m not aware of it. But once that caffeine starts pumping through my veins, everything’s good. Well, sort of. If you don’t look too closely at my messy closets, and if you don’t mind the fact that I’m basically a scatterbrain.
But if you’re willing to overlook all of my many flaws, I think we could be friends. So come on in, take your shoes off, and let me pour you a cup of coffee! Together we’ll laugh, talk, and laugh some more. And somewhere in there, we might just learn some valuable life lessons. Read Coffee Talk

RENAE BRUMBAUGH is an author, freelance writer, and newspaper columnist. She has had more than two hundred articles published in publications such as In Touch, Brio, Focus on Your Child, Vista, Homeschool Today, and other magazines and newspapers.
Renae is married to a gorgeous, brilliant man named Mark, who pastors Central Cities Church in Copperas Cove, TX. They have two noisy, nearly-perfect children and two dogs. She enjoys playing chauffeur to her children, singing on the church praise team, and keeping her dear husband out of trouble.

Coffee Talk began when I shamelessly and pitifully begged my local newspaper editor to let me write a column for him. I kept submitting stuff.
No response.
I submitted some more stuff.
Nothing. Read the rest of this entry.
Finally one day, I submitted a scatterbrained parody on football. It was a woman’s-eye-view of a local high school football game. It was published as a guest feature.
But of course, I wasn’t satisfied. Getting published is kind of like eating a Lay’s potato chip – betcha can’t eat just one! I had that little taste, and I was addicted. So I bombarded poor Gary’s inbox with more and more funny stuff – after all, he seemed to like funny stuff! Eventually, he published a second article, then a third, and before long, I had my own column. I named my baby, “Coffee Talk.”
Now, Coffee Talk reprints have been sold in national publications such as Vista, Live, and Homeschool Today, and the column has been accepted for syndication by Churchmouse Publications. I also have a book in the works. I’ll keep you posted, and I’d love it if you’d keep that in your prayers!
Thanks for stopping by my Coffee Talk site. Just as caffeine refreshes our weary bodies, I hope, while you’re here, you’ll find laughter and hope to refresh your weary spirit.
